Review: 2019 Mazda3

Premier Mazda of Kansas City has the completely redesigned 2019 Mazda3 available for you to test drive. With athletic handling, an upscale and comfortable interior, and user-friendly technology, it’s understandable why U.S. News ranked the 2019 Mazda3 #1 in Compact Cars*.

The new Mazda3 is offered in two body styles, sedan and hatchback. Both models are powered by a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV®-G four-cylinder direct injection engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with a front-wheel drivetrain. The Mazda3 has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 35 mpg highway and 26 mpg city. Paddle shifters, a manual transmission, and all-wheel drive are available. Mazda’s new-generation all-wheel-drive, i-ACTIV, is a fully-autonomous AWD system that constantly monitors the driving conditions. This new technology utilizes front-wheel slip warning detection and torque control systems to calculate and adjust the amount of torque to send to the rear wheels. This transition is quick and smooth, and even delivers an outstanding fuel economy.

Comfort and Convenience

You can choose features that best fit you through Select, Preferred, and Premium packages. Standard features are comprised of cloth-trimmed sport seats, 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, remote keyless entry, and cargo space of 13.2 cubic feet in the sedan and 20.1 cubic feet in the hatchback model. Optional are leather-trimmed seats, 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a moonroof.

The Mazda3 utilizes new technology with its standard MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system with an 8.8-inch display, voice command, Bluetooth® hands-free phone and audio streaming, Pandora® integration, HD Radio™, two USB ports, and an 8-speaker sound system. A wireless charging pad, SiriusXM® satellite radio, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility, and a Bose® 12-speaker premium audio system, are available.

The 2019 Mazda3 earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety when equipped with optional front crash prevention. An advanced airbag system, whiplash-reducing front seat headrests, anti-lock brake system, electronic force distribution, brake assist, dynamic stability control, traction control, and a rearview camera are included. Optional safety features include an adaptive front-lighting system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, driver attention alert, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, smart brake support, and radar cruise control with stop and go.
