Review: 2020 MAZDA CX-30

Premier Mazda of Kansas City enthusiastically serves Overland Park, Leawood, Brookside, and Olathe. We’re interested in developing a customer for life, not just making a quick sale, but that might be just what happens when you come in and test drive the all-new 2020 Mazda CX-30 compact crossover.

Design

New to Mazda’s lineup is the five-passenger 2020 Mazda CX-30 small crossover SUV. The Mazda CX-30 utilizes the Mazda3's chassis but sits 2.4-inches higher, providing ground clearance of 7.9-inches. The significantly forward-canted rear window is designed to give more of a coupe-like appearance, differentiating it from its’ Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-5 siblings. The rich interior embraces you with supportive seats and a roomy interior, while modern technology keeps you connected.

Performance

A Skyactiv®-G 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder teamed with a Skyactiv®-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with Sport mode powers the Mazda CX-30. Employing the same engine as the Mazda3, 186-hp and 186 lb-ft of torque are generated with a standard front-wheel drivetrain to earn an estimated 33 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city. Optional are steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and i-Activ AWD with Off-road Traction Assist to enhance traction control when your adventures take you on rough terrain.

Features

The cabin presents cloth-trimmed sport seats, a 60/40 split-folding rear seatback, 36.3-inches of rear legroom, and 20.2 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row. Exterior side mirrors and remote keyless entry with a push-button start are also standard. Additionally, a Mazda Connect™ infotainment system with an 8.8-inch center screen, Bluetooth®, voice command, HD Radio™, Pandora® compatibility, two USB ports, an eight-speaker audio system, and MyMazda app for remote access to your Mazda CX-30 are included. Available features consist of perforated leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-sliding moonroof, and a power liftgate. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration, SiriusXM® satellite radio, a head-up display, and a Bose® premium sound system with Centerpoint® 2 and AudioPilot® and twelve speakers are optional.
